Featured Products

Before discussing how best to include featured products in creative briefs, let's talk about the various forms product identification codes can take.

UPC

The Universal Product Code (UPC or UPC code) is a bar code system and 12-digit number that is widely used worldwide for tracking products in stores.

ASIN

An Amazon ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number) is a unique identifier for products sold on Amazon.

GTIN

The Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) is a bar code system and 14-digit number that is widely used worldwide for tracking products in stores.

As only UPCs and GTINs yield search results in DAM. ASINs do not.
And products downloaded from DAM come with paths, allowing for fast and clean removal of their backgrounds.

Provide UPCs /GTINs VS. ASINs

  • e.g.,  001234567890

  • e.g.,  00001234567890

  • In the event, a UPC, GTIN or ASSIN search does not yield a result, designers search via the product name and size. While this method of searching is time-consuming, it may keep designers from requesting additional marketing assistance.

  • If a project request requires a product that comes in packs, please indicate if a single product or a full pack is needed.

  • When graphics for nutritional labels and ingredient lists are needed, always identify/label and include the associated DAM assets within the brief.
